After nearly 20 years serving federal, healthcare, and research organizations nationally, Nexus Group LLC was formed by Jack Jaimes to enhance service management outcomes and implement dynamic solutions that support its customers’ mission in healthcare, research, and science. Nexus Group creates equipment maintenance service programs that integrate various resources and service providers across technical disciplines under one simplified service agreement.
Jack has served the Federal Government and healthcare facilities for most of his career, helping them overcome challenges in maintenance service management. In the process of understanding unique site-level challenges and how organizations develop and execute service agreements and acquisition strategies, he learned that enhanced solutions can often be achieved by implementing a hybrid approach that incorporates best practices across various organizations under a single simplified service model. Our mission became to create better outcomes for our customers and their customers.
Our Vision
“Supporting my customers and being a part of their success motivates me each day to do more. In 2007, I embraced the maintenance management field passionately. I am grateful to have collaborated with experts in the industry, including Department of Defense logistics, Veterans Affairs staff, biomedical engineering, clinical and research staff, contracting officials, strategic sourcing professionals, ISO and OEM providers, and so many others in the field.”
“Over the years I realized that the only way to continue to do what I love and help my customers completely is to disengage from traditional corporate objectives that prioritize shareholder interests and year-over-year profits over the best-fit solutions, the customers’ mission, and ultimately the right thing to do. In order to establish the right culture and customer-focused objectives, it was necessary to build a new foundation and a new company. We represent the nexus in maintenance service management, prioritizing always the customer experience and their mission in healthcare, research, and science.”
Beginnings
Jack graduated from SUNY Stony Brook University with a B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, and Business Management. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, he was the first in his family to graduate from college.
During his earlier years, his high school physics teacher, Mr. Leonard Messineo, served as a mentor and became a major influence in his pursuit and love for math, science, and education. This inspired him to pursue a field where he could apply those skills.
Throughout his college years, Jack served at Maryhaven Center of Hope, a part of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, NY, working as a Direct Care Counselor serving autistic children. After graduating, Jack worked as an Underwriter and Claims Generalist with Progressive Insurance in Queens, NY where he applied principles in risk management, estimation, and claims.
In 2007 Jack relocated to Charlotte, NC to be with his family and joined The Remi Group as an Equipment Maintenance Underwriter. Soon after joining Remi, Jack established the company’s first federal contracts, eventually building an $18M annual revenue division as the pioneer of federal maintenance management programs.
During his tenure he received multiple awards and was formally recognized by federal procurement officials and locally by Charlotte Business Journal for his business integrity and leadership effectiveness in government contracts and proposal management [CBJ: Jack Jaimes, The Remi Group]. Jack applied his analytical skills and creativity to establish one-of-a-kind multi-faceted service programs at various federal agencies and premier healthcare systems. He also established the foundational workflow functionality and UXD of the company’s first and only federal agency specific service software management platform still in use today.
In the worst of COVID, Jack was terminated by Remi after 14 years of service despite exceeding performance objectives. He was forced to create a new path forward and during that time applied his contracting skills as a consultant. This is when he helped other small businesses navigate the federal contracting arena. This collaboration grew each company he helped by 25 - 60% in a 22 month span while bringing new concepts and significant value to federal agencies. Jack helped these organizations establish strategic contracts with numerous agencies. This success has helped pave the way for his next challenge and the culmination of his life’s work – Nexus Group.
WHY NEXUS?
Because it's not our work. It's our passion.
Organizations work hard to enhance outcomes for their staff, research, and/or the patients they serve. Supporting this objective became our passion and life’s work. Maintenance management is a broad discipline with typically limited resources allocated to enhancing these outcomes. After spending nearly two decades working with creative strategic sourcing professionals, contracting officials, research and medical staff, equipment manufacturers, and biomedical equipment specialists, we have successfully engineered unique hybrid solutions that optimize value and service redundancies for our customers.
Unique to Nexus is the reason for its creation, our passion, our story, and what drives us each and every day. When companies prioritize scalability over customer success and ‘the right thing to do’, it became clear that this industry needed a reliable partner in maintenance management consulting. In order to continue serving our customers and do what we love, we needed to create a foundation and culture that supports prioritization of customer outcomes above all.
When institutions are able to incorporate, in a practical manner, best practices of healthcare systems like Stanford Health, safety protocols established within the CDC, and in-house biomedical workflows of Department of Defense treatment facilities, organizations create unique advantages that directly impact patient care, research outcomes, productivity, safety, operational workflow, advantageous competition and cost. Our team has over 20 years combined experience engineering multifaceted service programs for various facilities including the National Cancer Institute, Department of Defense, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Our customers benefit from service solutions that capitalize on highly skilled providers across various organizations while implementing simplified service processes.
Nexus Group is a privately held maintenance management firm based in Charlotte, NC. The company serves hospitals and medical centers, clinical and research laboratories, private contractors, surgery centers, universities, as well as government and defense facilities.
